PROJECT 1: TUPPERWARE RACK

Hi, so it's been a long time since i update this blog. Since i really out of idea on what to do, so, i think i just want to put a digital trace for what am i doing. Well, maybe in future i can reminisce this post or maybe delete it later, who knows. So, i came up with a project. Please don't have any high expectation. I am a lazy person, not a crafty-neat-workmanship and kinda stingy in spending my money. But the functionality of this project is needed so we can ignore aesthethic value in my workmanship. Lets start:

1. Problem : Huge amount of unused tupperware in storage room and i need to clear up storage room because i thought minimalism is a new way of life 🤔. However, the condition i receive from the owner (which is my mom), i can't sell or dispose any of these tupperware 😩

2. Solution : wall rack for tupperware to display on how much unused tupperware and they screaming to us, ask us to use them

3. Constraint : money, amount of effort need to use (please note: i don't have any man force that i can ask for help

4. Idea browsing :

source : pinterest

5. Problem rising : I have wall tiles, so i would prefer less drilling on wall. Drilling on ceiling is okay since it is concrete ceiling.

6. Rough sketch:
I roughly do the measurement since this is rough sketch and to have a proper sketch with proper measurement needed an effort and i don't have effort to spend. So the measurement is just in my head. Not advisable if you want to save more money and if you don't want any wastage after your material purchase. Next, think about the theme and color so that my finish project doesn't look like mismatch item in the whole room and need to throw away at the end. Since my wall tiles is in blue color which i don't know why it is in that color in the first place, so i need to find suitable theme to match up with the wall tiles. And it's freaking hard since i am not really a creative person. So, i came up with black pipe with oak-natural finish color for plywood

7. Material planning :
- plywood
- pipe with thread
- flange
- decorative industrial pipe
- paint
- wallpaper sticker
- sandpaper
- driller

8. Material browsing :

The best effort i can give while laying down on my bed with handphone in my hand. I believe if you want to save more money, you can browse for cheaper option or maybe find cheaper option in the hardware.

9. Item received and start work:
So i use wallpaper sticker bought from mr.diy because painting or using lacquer for better finishing need so much effort and time. I don't have that 🤷

not really final product...

I use black paint for flange, pipe and screw since my theme is black plus oak-natural finish color.

almost there...

I admit, i did ask a friend to come up and do the drilling for the ceiling. And for the wall, we took turn to do the drilling because of time constraint. Please excuse the unbalance straighness. This job actually needed two person all the time for better finishing.

Final product with the tupperware

Summary
Time consume for work progress : almost a week because i am too lazy mindset
Total spending : RM300++. I already show you the price for main material above. So, you can guess the whole price.
Work force : 1 to 2 person
Problem solution : Not really solved because i still have 5 storage boxes of tupperware that need to come out from store room. So maybe i will come up with other project next time. So far, the mission to use the unused tupperware was achieved but the main goal to clear up my store room is not.

Done. Bye.
